Hello,

It has been a long time since I wrote on here. I can only apologise, as we are all caught up with our personal and work commitment's.

This year our committee, were unable to organise the annual Betty Willett Memorial run due to a number of issues, that i shall not bore you with.

We now have to find other ways of raising monies, ideas have been put forward it is now just seeing them through...

We had our first taste of Race for Life, where by we set up or own stall selling certificates. This was a good idea and we raised £40.00 but we need to promote this better next year and have c0me up with other ideas, i.e actually walking round with the certificates to advertise that we were in the corner. A lot of people mistook us for the Admin area, so we did spend our time pointing people in the right direction. We also needed to have a bigger advert, but these are the learning curves, hopefully it will be beneficial for us.

The radio station were not that good at promoting our stall, even though I did run over and give them a sentence or two to shout out! This was noted by our area volunteer manager.

Other ideas put forward, quiz night at the Casino, abseil the Stathmore Hotel!! Tae Kwon Do display of techniques etc, Ladies Indulgence evening. If any of you out there have an idea please let us know.

A lot of our donations are from collections around the supermarkets or town centres, but with these economic times being what they are, you don't want to be pushing a collection tin in someones face. So if you do see us please drop a few pennies in the tin, it counts.
